"Laodiceia on the Lycus" This is how this beautiful city was recorded in the ancient sources. The city was founded by one of the generals of Alexander the Great, Antiochos ll in the 3 century BC and Antiochos, loving his wife so much named the city after her name "Laodike".

One of the Seven Churches of Revelation was in this famous city which made Laodiceia so significant for Christianity.

The city had many sources to florish in a very short period of time thanks to the marble quarries nearby, fertile lands and beautiful climate offerring agriculture facilities and the worldwide known wool of Laodiceia "Trimita" which is the Black sheep wool, which made the city one of the leading metropolis cities on the Silk Road.
You enter in the city by the Syria Gate and walking along the main street, the city and the marvelous edifices already call you. During the last few years they have been restoring a great part of the city so that you can see most of the buildings on their original places, partly completed partly under restoration.
The monumental Nympheaum and the Temple of Apollo, Temple of Zeus, two theaters located on the different sides of the city, gymnasium, the massive Laodiceia Church which was fabulously decorated with mosaics and frescoes that are well preserved. When you arrive at the Agora, the market place you get amazed one more time by its size, asking to yourself "How could this be so magnificent?"
A lot to see in this beautiful and archaeologically rich city is awaiting you here.
You will find the local food is different than what you had before, you can have a break on the way back home but it will worth waiting for a late lunch.
After lunch we head to Pamukkale which takes approx. 15 minutes.

This Unesco city Pamukkale, a place where natural treasure meets the history. Being in the middle of the Aegean Region, usually it takes around three hours to get there, which can be less or little longer at times. On the way to Pamukkale you will enjoy driving through country side and see different crops growing, hot springs and more to give you idea about villages and big cities of the Aegean Region.

As you get close to Pamukkale you may like to call it with another name but due to cotton was one of the main industry since the ancient days they like to call it Cotton Castle not snow or any other name.
Depending on your time your guide will take you around the ancient city, to sit on the seats of a very well preserved theather, before you put your feet in the white-calcium terraces.

Hierapolis has always been very important, well known city with its wine, travertine and textile, still today these are one of the reasons people like to visit this small but unique city.
Walking from the South gate to North gate you will see one of  the largest Necropolis of the ancient times.
Make sure that you bring your swimming suits with you if you like to swim in the antique pool called “Cleopatra‘s pool” which is something that you can never see another example.
When you stop to taste the water from the resource do not forget to turn back and look up to take a beautiful photo of the ruins of Temple, Odeon, Theatre and more.
