The Black Sea region is one of the most critical areas of Turkey. A large part of the Black Sea region in the north of Turkey is covered with forests. The district, which takes its name from the Black Sea, extends from the east of Sakarya plain to the border with Georgia. It is ranked 3rd among our regions in terms of size.

The Black Sea consists of three parts.

The Western Black Sea Department is the westernmost of the three divisions of the Black Sea region. It starts from the western edge of the Kızılırmak Delta and extends to the east of Adapazarı and Bilecik. The section is generally mountainous. Forest products and forestry are significant sources of income. There are numerous sawmills around Bolu and Düzce.

The central Black Sea Department is the Central Division of the Black Sea region. It extends from Melet Creek to the east of Sinop. It is inserted further south than the Eastern Black Sea Section and includes large parts of Tokat and Çorum provinces and the whole of Amasya province.

The eastern Black Sea Section is the most mountainous part of the Black Sea region, with the most rainfall, cloudiness, and humidity. It is also the part of the Black Sea region where most tea, nuts, and corn are grown. It is the most difficult, bumpy, and most migratory part of Transportation.
